A WWII fantasy mashup with vampires, wizards, a kickass female protagonist and jaw dropping twists and turns? Sign me up!
I am THRILLED to announce that “The Tower’s Alchemist,” the first book of my Gray Tower Trilogy, is on the verge of a screenplay adaptation for film. This means we’re at the part where we need to find and secure our screenwriter and script. How cool is that?
Right now we’re not attached to a big studio (though that can change), but for now, first things first–get our screenwriter.
I truly believe in the power of community and coming together to make dreams come true. Because of readers, followers, and supporters like you, I was able to hit the bestsellers lists at Amazon. Now, I’m moving toward my next goal–and I’d love for you to join me on this journey.
I’m launching a Script Fund campaign which my team and I will use to hire our screenwriter for the screenplay adaptation. In return for backing this campaign, I’ve got some AMAZING digital and physical rewards that you won’t want to miss!
But first…
If you’re unfamiliar with “The Tower’s Alchemist,” please let me introduce you…
A jaded spy reluctantly agrees to postpone retirement and extract a warlock from Nazi-occupied France. But when her cover is blown, she’s pitted against a deadly vampire who seeks to devour her…
It’s an alternate World War II, where magic is not only real but is key to winning the war. Isabella George, a battle-weary alchemist and spy for British intelligence, wants nothing more than to retire and find love—but fate has other plans for her. She parachutes into Paris, bent on destroying an alchemical weapon known as the Plague and nabbing Veit Heilwig, the warlock who created it.
It seems simple enough, but there’s a catch. Someone within her own spy organization betrays her and exposes her identity, putting her life in danger and setting Marc, a Cruenti vampire, hot on her trail.
Isabella is shaken by the fact that Marc wants to drink her blood and steal her powers, but she’s determined to regain her footing and complete her mission. She wants this horrific war to end, and she wants to avoid the heartache of burying another friend. She still holds out hope that she can retire to a normal life, but Marc won’t make it easy for her. He sends his minions, both human and inhuman, to hunt her down. Luckily, she has a tight-knit group of friends backing her up, providing her with protection and inspiration to keep fighting.
As Isabella locates Veit Heilwig and the source of his Plague, she discovers in a shocking twist that Veit is actually a hostage. Her extraction job quickly turns into a rescue mission. If that weren’t enough, Isabella’s father, long thought dead, resurfaces and is being tracked by the very Master Wizards who had trained her. They claim he’s the Drifter, a dangerous wizard who can manipulate time, and he must be executed. She must confront her past and choose between loyalty to her father or her mission.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, Isabella also navigates the romantic attention of two men, both of whom bring out the best in her. She must determine if they’re a help or a hindrance, as she goes up against the vampire Marc in a climactic battle.
“Escobar’s attention to detail, to bringing an era long past to life in an urban fantasy is wonderful. The secondary characters…are superbly drawn.”

“I wasn’t ready for it to end. This…kept me on the edge of my seat. I was so enthralled with the story that I read it very fast.”
—Samantha Goodno, USA Today Bestselling Author
“It’s one of those books that once I started, I just couldn’t stop reading it…There were so many interesting twists and turns and it is definitely one of the fewest books I’ve read that had me read the entire series within 2-2 1/2 weeks while also having to split my focus on my college books and papers. Definitely a must read for Fantasy lovers.”
