Author Devorah Fox has been so kind to tag me for the Next Big Thing tour.
I’m going to approach NBT a little differently since I’ve done similar questions recently. So, let’s talk about one of my WIPs–The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
This short story is definitely a bit of a prequel, as it covers one of Isabella’s earliest days at the Special Operations Executive (SOE) when she’s actually partnered with Nikon Praskovya (and if you’ve read The Tower’s Alchemist and Dark Rift, you know what happens with them).
Why did I decide to write this? Mainly because it’s fun, I love the world and the characters, and I wanted to present some more facets of the story to readers that aren’t there in the Trilogy due to the timeline of the story and the fact that the books are from my protagonist’s POV. Writing short stories where some are in third person allows a lot more space to delve into information, people’s lives and interactions in a different way.
If you haven’t read the first chapter of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, it’s posted for free up at Goodreads 🙂
Thanks, Devorah!

Thanks, J.B.! How have you been? I’m sinking my teeth into The Source (and having quite a bit of fun! hehe).

Doing good and glad to hear it! I’m working to get the sequel “Mining the Dark” done, but it’s been challenging. I have a “day job” that has kept me overly busy. I did office work until 10:30 p.m. last night! It’s hard to find the will to write when that happens. But I am determined – it will be completed and ready for its Spring release!
How have you been? What are you working on now?

I’m so there with you! Sometimes I’m staring at my computer screen at 11pm and forcing myself to get in just a few more minutes of writing before turning in. We’ll get through it though.
I’m glad to hear about your upcoming release! You must stop by the blog and share 🙂
I’m finishing the final installment of my trilogy, and wrapping up a couple of short stories. Oh, and we’ve got a blog tour coming up, so stop by and say hello for that.
xoxo
