Dear readers,
I once saw a fascinating documentary on sin eaters, the myths and beliefs surrounding them, and I just couldn’t shake the idea and kept playing around with it in my mind until I finally came up with Aria Knight.
My co-author, Samantha LaFantasie (who thankfully accepts my quirks), has many of the same tastes and interests in fantasy and mythology. As we discussed how such a character would function in an urban fantasy, we realized that we needed to collaborate and work on this as a team.
Samantha’s writing to me is very grounded, emotional, and rich. I knew that she would bring her unique flair to the story, and I hope that I’ve done justice on my part, as we spent many a late night writing and sending each other scenes and chapters.
Along with Aria herself, a couple of my favorite characters were Harry Storm, the cursed private investigator searching for a cure, and Jacob Wolfe, a wizard trying to bridge the gap between regular people and a wizarding community that lives out in the open. Their worlds clash when a gruesome murder is pinned on Aria, and they have to dig beneath the surface to find out who did this, and why.
Part mystery and thriller, and mostly fun urban fantasy, Sin Eater has already garnered some amazing early reviews, and I am so pleased to finally debut the book today. This new urban fantasy rocks!
Happy birthday to my latest writing project, and now I have to get back to finishing book 2 of the series.
Thank you to all my beta and ARC readers, my editors, and supporters!
